A correction
The following sentence inaccurately portrays the 2021 American Academy of Neurology Neck Restraints Position Statement:
“The Justice Department and the American Academy of Neurology in 2021 conducted a rigorous study of the
medical hazards of the carotid restraint.”
Because this was a position statement and not a study, and because the Justice Department was not involved, we are requesting that the sentence please be corrected to the following:
“The American Academy of Neurology issued a position statement in 2021 recommending prohibiting use of
neck restraints in law enforcement.”
