This is Earl Ofari Hutchinson, President of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable. As you can see in back of me, I’m going to pan a little bit. I’m standing in front of Target in central Los Angeles. A majority of the shoppers here are African-American and Hispanics. I’m going to walk a little bit closer to the Target logo. They spend a lot of money, tens of millions of dollars Every, literally every day at Target buying goods, services, pharmaceuticals, you name it. Yet and still, Target recently became one of the stores, retail outlets, Walmart, we know about them, Toyota, Ford, Facebook, and now Target. Ending DEI.

What is DEI? Diversity, equity, and inclusion. What we’re calling for? Boycott. Boycott a 24-hour, 24-hour shop-out boycott over their exclusion, elimination of DEI programs and initiatives. It’s unconscionable. They’re buckling, they’re bowing, they’re scraping the Donald Trump, who, as we well know, has wiped out just about every DEI initiative. No federal funding, colleges, universities, corporations, you name it. Gone. Caput. Long gone. We’re saying this, many have called for a boycott of all of the entities that have dropped DEI. That’s not Really delicious. We’re going to continue to shop at many of these outlets.

We already know that. However, a 24-hour shop out just for 24 hours shop out, just for 24 hours, sends a strong message. It’s doable, by the way. Don’t shop. Go to another outlet. Or don’t shop at all for 24 hours. Send a message to target. Find out, by the way, who the corporate CEOs are. Just Google it right at the top and let them know. I’m not going to spend a penny with you for 24 hours. Why? We can’t work with diversity, or rather, you can’t work with diversity, equity, and inclusion, you buckle. There’s an old saying, Don’t shop where you can’t work. We’re saying, Don’t shop where you can’t have diversity, equity, and inclusion. It’s just that simple. Once again, Target, they’re in the bull’s eye, as they should be, dropping I buckling, caving into the strong. The fact is, millions, tens of millions of dollars are spent by Blacks, Hispanic, LGBTQ, women at Target every day, day in and day out, but no diversity, no equity, no inclusion. That’s to say this, look at Target, look at that. I think it’s good. The logo there, it looks like a bull’s eye. Put them in your Bull’s Eye.

Boycott Target, a shop out for 24 hours. Is that too much to ask? I’m Earl Ofari Hutchinson, standing in front of a Target. We launched the boycott, the 24-hour shopout boycott today, January 27. Go one day. It’s not going to hurt. As a matter of fact, might even put a few dollars in your pocketbook. I’m Rolo Fari Hutchinson. Thanks again for joining me. By the way, spread the word on this. You can do yourself a favor, do the community a favor, and most importantly, do equality, equity, diversion, diversity, and inclusion, a major favor. Thanks again for watching..
