Los Angeles Civil Rights Leader Will Call for Hate Crime Charges in Theft From Black Compton Cemetery
Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson on Thursday, January 18 at 10:00 AM in front of Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, 16701 S. Central, Compton 90220 will call for hate crime charges in theft of more than 100 plaques many of Black historical figures from a Black cemetery.
“The theft of more than one hundred plaques many of revered Black war veterans and historic figures from a Black cemetery is more than just wanton vandalism,” says Hutchinson, ” It fits in with a pattern of racially motivated hate vandalism targeting African-Americans in recent months in L.A. County. A  hate crime prosecution will send the strong message that racially motivated hate crime perpetrators in L.A. will be severely punished.”
Hutchinson will Facebook Livestream the Call for  hate crime charges in Compton Cemetery theft
The Livestream is part of his ongoing series Taking It To The Streets
