Good morning. Welcome to Hot Button Topic Commentary. I’m Earl Ofari Hutchinson. Okay, here’s a question. We heard over and over again with the attack on DEI that white men are the only ones qualified to run an agency, run a department, to run anything. Minorities, women, LGBTQ, all of them, they are not qualified. White men must run the show. Okay, now we come to Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth. We all know he leaked. Yes, he did. He leaked to a Atlantic magazine reporter, of all things. Secret plans to attack in Yemen, the Houthi, the rebels, the insurgents there. Essentially, what happened is when Hegseth did this, leaked it, inadvertently, there was no apology, no admission of wrongdoing. As a matter of fact, all he and Trump did was attack the reporter, Mr. Goldberg for Atlantic. They didn’t like him anyway. So all of these things taken together, we asked the question, when you say or they say, and they contend that white men are the best to do it, what do you say about a Hegseth who had no experience whatsoever in defense, wasn’t in the military, wasn’t in anything, was a commentator for Fox News, put there by Trump.
Yet and still, you see what happens when you have novices, when you have individuals that are not qualified, but it doesn’t make any difference to white males. In this case, they’re always going to get a pass. All Trump does to say, I don’t know anything. I wasn’t involved with anything. I didn’t have anything to do with it. And there’s no admission of wrongdoing. The GOP is not much better. All they did was circle the wagons again around Trump and Hegseth and Unfortunately, mistakes happen. Accidents happen. In other words, pooh-pooh it, blow it away. Take no responsibility, not even really telling us and telling the public, What are you going to do about it? What steps are being taken to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. And apparently, it’s not the first time. You have had these little informal chats that have been going out about national security issues that have been going on for some time Of course, the public doesn’t know about that. Remember Hillary Clinton, how they made a big deal, the GOP and Trump went after her tooth and nail, hammered her on supposedly the illegal use of emails, personal emails, remember as Secretary of State and jeopardize US security, national security.
All right, now we have Pete Hegseth, a white male. And remember, they can do nothing wrong. After all, they told us with the attack on DEI that anybody that’s not a white male, don’t even think about it, not qualified. So, what does one to make of this? You see the incompetence, you see the ignorance, you see the stupidity that white men are, as we see here with Hegseth and many others, are certainly just as capable of exhibiting.
