I’m Earl Ofari Hutchinson, President of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable. I’m standing now in front of Google. Google, the number one search engine for many years on the web. In front of their headquarters in Venice. What does it say? Boycott Google.

The LA Urban Policy Roundtable today, we’re launching a boycott Google campaign. The reason is very simple. Google caved to Trump and the anti-D DEI crowd. Google announced recently this. In fact, in many ways, it’s even more insulting than all the other corporations that are caving the Trump and essentially dropping their DEI diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

Here it is. You can read it for yourself. Street from the Horse on the Horse’s Mouth. Google tells employees why it’s ending DEI hiring goals. But this is what is revealing in this. The company says it’s carefully evaluating other DEI initiatives that raise risk. The operative word is raise risk. Now, Google, they take it to a whole another level. That DEI is not only just something that we’re going to have to dial back, scale down, but it’s actually risk involved.

You’re telling me, Google, and the CEOs of Google, that African-Americans, Hispanics, LGBT, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, women of all stripes, that somehow they raise risk, actively recruiting, actively hiring, actively promoting, actively enforcing equity, diversity, and inclusion.

You’re telling me If that raises risk, that’s dangerous. Again, we’re calling for a national boycott of Google. Here’s a company that says not only is DEI out the door, out the window with Google, but it’s also saying it raises risk. Google is a cash cow. It brings in millions, tens of millions in revenue. A majority or certainly a significant number, you don’t want to go a majority, of users of his search engine for African-American, Hispanic, Asian-American, Native American, LGBTQ, and of course, women.

But still you’re saying that somehow reaching out to them, if you’re hiring for promotion at every level in the food chain of Google, somehow raises risk. But again, that takes us back to why we are calling for any company that says DEI raises risk, boycott, boycott.

And by the way, you don’t have to Don’t deprive yourself or deny yourself. If you have a project and you’re still searching, there are alternatives to Google, specifically nine alternatives. And here they are, the alternative to to Google. You don’t have to use them. You don’t have to be chained to them. You don’t have to be tied down to them.

Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuck, Perplexity, Yandix, Ecosia, StartPage, Search, brave Search, Swiss Cows, Nye, and especially Bing and Yahoo, they are very well commonly placed and very well used. Don’t use Google. Again, the LA Urban Policy Roundtable and many other organizations, we certainly hope, will join in in our international call for a boycott of Google. Think about it. I’m Earl Ofari Hutchinson.
