Say the Name of Alex Petti’s ICE killer. Pretti was slain by an ICE agent. Homeland Security and ICE are government agencies. That means they are public agencies. They are funded as all government public agencies by the taxpayers. An enshrined mandate with all government funded public agencies is transparency and accountability.
The heart of that is the public’s right to know what, how, and why a public agency or employee does what it and he/she does. The heart of that is when there is an allegation of wrongdoing by an employee of that public agency the mandate must be full disclosure.
Now we come back to Pretti. The same rules apply. The ICE agent that slew Petti remains unknown, cloaked, and shielded. This is a gross violation of the long established mandate of public disclosure. In this case, that disclosure is the name, agency record, employment evaluations and any other pertinent facts about the agent.
None of that can happen until one thing happens. That is name him. If as ICE and Homeland Security claim the agent acted lawfully then there is no reason not to name him. There is no need to clamp a lid on his identity. It’s a matter of transparency and accountability.
